These workshops will use Nicky Epstein’s book Knitting Block by Block to explore a variety of knitting techniques. We will experiment with domino knitting, mosaic, applique, cables, and counterpane.
Prerequisites: The student must be able to cast on, knit, purl and bind off as well as have some previous experience knitting and completing a project.
I. Rosemary Sprigs – A counterpane square worked from the outside in.
Dates – Thursday, April 20 from 7 – 9 pm or
Thursday, April 27 from 2 – 4 pm.
II. Regal Cable – Another counterpane, this time with cables and working from the center out.
Dates – Thursday, June 15 from 7 – 9 pm or
Thursday, May 18 from 2 – 4 pm.
III. Highland Fling – Learn to applique I-cord with this block.
Dates – Thursday, July 20 from 7 – 9 pm or
Thursday, June 22 from 2 – 4 pm.
IV. Quattro Domino – Learn the domino knitting technique with this block.
Dates – Thursday, August 17 from 7 – 9 pm or
Thursday, July 27 from 2 – 4 pm
V. Boxed Illusion – This block explores mosaic and embroidered embellishment.
Dates – Thursday, September 21 from 7 – 9 pm or
Thursday, August 24 from 2 – 4 pm.
Cost: Take any or all of the workshops!
$20.00 per workshop.
