Update on Temporary Hours

To all of our valued customers, friends, fibre enthusiasts~

We have been discussing our plan for what to do in the wake of our current situation concerning the COVID-19. We do not take our role in the community lightly. We feel that it is our duty to protect our community and all of our loved ones with whom we may come in contact. So we have decided to do the following…

We will have limited store hours on Tuesday, March 17 from noon until 3pm. Effective Wednesday, March 18th until Saturday, March 21, the store will be closed to shopping and social gatherings. We will be in the shop from Noon to 3pm Weds – Fri and Saturday 10am – 2pm taking email and phone orders only. We will re-evaluate at the end of the week to see what the following week brings.

As with any small business, this is not an easy decision. But it is the right decision. Just like most yarn shops, we count on sales from this time of the year to get us through the slower summer months. Just remember that this will be a financial hit on all small business.

Here are some things you can do to help us out while the shop is closed to customers:

  • Place an email order! Email contact@michiganfibrestudio.com, and we’ll get you set up. We will be doing neighborhood deliveries (within 5 miles of the shop) + drive-by pick ups. We will also mail things out as we can. We’ll be happy to work with you and send you pictures of yarn, etc. to help you make your choices.
  • Want to support us, but don’t need any yarn at this very moment?  Get a gift card for future shopping fun. This can be done online on our website at www.michiganfibrestudio.com. We can also do it over the phone and we can keep the card for you at the shop until you’re able to pick it up.  You can also get a gift card for a friend, kid, co-worker etc.
  • Keep in touch with us! I have a feeling that we are going to miss seeing you and your finished projects and hearing about what is important to you.  We will miss helping out and answering questions, and putting colors together with you and finding projects on Ravelry with you all. We will still be posting on Facebook and Instagram. So please,  respond to posts, share pictures of finished projects with us, tag us in your WIP pictures on Instagram, email us a picture of a couple of color dilemmas. Just because we can’t squish the yarn together doesn’t mean we can’t still connect over it!

Be kind to each other and yourself this week.
